When the weather starts to get warmer, it’s time to start with spring treatment for your lawn and garden beds.

Spring Treatment To Spruce Up Your Lawn and Garden Beds

The saying goes – “the early bird catches the worm,” and is certainly true when it comes to Spring treatment for your lawn and garden beds.

Spring means a new year in gardening terms. Spring maintenance on your lawn will depend on the condition and whether it contains a lot of dead grass. A mow and spring lawn feed may not be enough, and you may need to scarify. And before fertilising, the lawn and garden beds need tidying up.

Our knowledgeable and passionate team have been doing spring treatment for lawns, garden beds, and sports fields for more than 25 years.

Get Your Lawn Ready For Spring in Five Steps.

A beautiful and healthy-looking lawn doesn’t happen by itself. Give your lawn the fresh start it needs.

1. Scarify

Cut the lawn short, almost to root level, to remove all thatch build-up.

2. Water

Water your lawn before applying the fertiliser; it will prevent the fertiliser from burning the grass.

3. Fertilise

Apply your fertiliser (within half an hour of watering) using a high Nitrogen fertiliser – 5:1:5 or 8:1:5.

4. Water

After applying the fertiliser, you are going to water again.

5. Apply lawn dressing
Apply lawn dressing to feed and help level your lawn. Take care to rake the area as level as possible, filling in divots where you can.

Tip: Apply enough water before and after using the fertiliser to avoid burning your lawn.

Don't Forget Spring Treatment For Your Garden Beds!

Follow these easy 3-steps to a healthy-looking garden for Spring and Summer.

1. Clean up Flower Beds

Clean away dead leaves and debris from the winter months

2. Add fresh mulch around perennials
Spread it evenly, and be careful not to layer it too much around your plants. It’s an easy way to make your gardens look polished. It also helps the soil retain moisture for your plants while keeping the weeds down.
3. Prune trees and shrubs

Spring is an excellent time to prune summer-blooming trees and shrubs just before they start pushing out new growth.

Tip: Spring treatment for your garden beds is a nutrient boost your plants will need for the upcoming growing season.

Why Does Your Lawn Need a Spring Cleaning?

When you neglect to clean up your landscape after winter, it can harm your grass and perennials, and we’re not just talking aesthetics. Turf and delicate plants can become smothered, leading to brown spots on grass and the loss of perennials.

If you take care of your landscape’s spring treatment during the early spring months, you’ll enjoy a beautiful, lush green garden in summer.
